The Black Studies AssociationThe BSA was established to expand the opportunities of its members, and to enhance appreciation for African-American culture. Business ClubThe goal of the Business Club is to bring the student and professional together in a relationship that benefits both the student and community. Cheerleading TeamThe Cheerleading Club promotes Germanna school spirit, cheers at basketball games, and participates in organized competitions. Christian Fellowship ClubThis organization meets regularly to share the truths of Jesus Christ, teaching persons how to experience the fullness of Christian life. College RepublicansThe purpose of this organization is to educate the college community about the principles of the Republican Party and develop leadership skills to help serve the community. Drama ClubThe Drama Club is interested in viewing, reading, and participating in all forms of drama. Environmental ClubThe Environmental Club seeks to increase awareness of environmental issues. The club participated in the Rappahannock River Clean-up and local Earth Day projects. Gaming ClubThe Gaming Club develops its members' critical thinking and strategic skills through participation in a variety of different games. GCC Member Organization of the American Dental Hygienists AssociationThe objectives of this organization shall be to cultivate, promote, and sustain the art and science of dental hygiene, to represent and safeguard the common interest if the members of the dental hygiene profession, and to contribute toward the improvement of the oral health of the public. History ClubThe focus of this club is to foster awareness and interest in history. All historical interests are welcome and encouraged to participate. International ClubThis organization strives to increase the college community's understanding of other cultures through activities and discussion groups. Phi Theta Kappa (Alpha Lambda Psi Chapter)The Alpha Lambda Chapter of the Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society is active in promoting academic excellence and community awareness in the student body. Members participate in service projects including their Adopt-a-Highway road clean-up, current events panel discussions, volunteer tutoring for the Kid's Cafe program with the Fredericksburg Food Bank, and service to the college in the form of volunteering at college special events. Photography ClubThis club is interested in all aspects of photography and increasing their photographic skills. Practical Nursing Students AssociationThe mission of this organization shall be to encourage interest and excellence in the field of Practical Nursing and to display to the community the values of the practical nursing profession. This will be accomplished through community service, scholarship, and outreach activities. Psychology ClubThe Psychology Club in interested in furthering their understanding of different areas of psychology. Science ClubThis club incorporates all of the different fields of science and invites all interested students to attend! Soccer ClubThis club participates in community soccer leagues and in VCCS soccer tournaments. Student Government Association (SGA)The purpose of the SGA is to encourage communication between students, faculty, and administration. It promotes and coordinates student organizations and activities that include a wide range of interest. The SGA encourages and develops students as effective members of the College and community and encourages better school spirit. The SGA acts as the official voice of the student body to the administration. Student Nursing AssociationThis club participates in many activities revolving around the health field (ex. Health and Fitness Fair, American Red Cross Blood Drive, Flu Shots, and free Blood Pressure Screenings). Student Virginia Educator's Association (SVEA)The GCC chapter of the SVEA is an organization of students studying the field of Education and improving their understanding and professional skills for future entry into the Education profession. Table Tennis ClubThe Table Tennis Club meets weekly to play Table Tennis. Volleyball ClubThe Volleyball Club at Germanna Community College competes in local leagues and GCC Intramural tournaments. |
