***Pre-Admission and Achievement Testing***

The Nursing Pre-Admission testing will be given on an ongoing basis in the Testing Centers at FAC and LGC unless otherwise advised. *Nursing applicants MUST take the Pre-Admission Test prior to submitting an application. (If you have taken one in the past 3 years and scored at the 45th program percentile or higher you do not need to retake the test. Please provide the Nursing & Health Technology Office with a copy of your test scores).

     A criminal history record MUST be submitted with the nursing program application. Admission to the program will be contingent upon the results of the background check. Please see the information below for acquiring a background check.

Misrepresentation on the application will result in dismissal from the Nursing Program.

     The facility where you have nursing clinicals requires that each student purchase a background check through CertifiedBackground.com.

     CertifiedBackground.com is a background check service that allows students to purchase their own background check. The results of a background check are posted to the CertifiedBackground.com web site in a secure, tamper-proof environment, where the student, as well as organizations can view the background check.

     To order your background check from CertifiedBackground.com, please follow the instructions below.

Instructions

  1. Go to www.CertifiedBackground.com and click on "Applicants", and then on "Order Now".
  2. In the Package Code box, enter package code er55b (Background Check Only, $46.00).
  3. Enter package code, if already accepted into the program (er55d - Drug Test Only, $38.00).
  4. Select a method of payment. We accept Visa, MasterCard and money orders.

     Once your order is submitted, you will receive a password to view the results of your background check. The results will be available in approximately 48-72 hours. Once your background check is complete, please make a copy for your records. You will retain your record.

     The following package is required for Germanna Community College Nursing Students. This package is a Virginia Statewide and Nationwide Sex Offender Criminal Search, $46.00.

Nursing Scholarships Available

Foundation and Nursing Scholarships have been posted online. Please click on Scholarship Info under Popular Links on the Germanna Homepage. Hard copies may be picked up at the Foundation Office or Financial Aid.
