Welcome Students and Families!  From time to time, we will be updating this page with the very latest news and updates from the Financial Aid Office. We hope your experience at Germanna is the start of something special, and will do our best to keep you in the know!

March 2, 2012 (1 Anouncement):

Charging Books to Your Financial Aid: Take Two

  The College Bookstore has agreed to let students that have not yet charged books to their financial aid two extra days to do this.  Those days are: March 9th from 9am-5pm and March 10th from 9am-12pm.

Here’s how it works:  Next Friday and Saturday the College Bookstore at the Locus Grove Campus will be open and able to see how much financial aid you guys have left over to charge your books.  We will also have a Financial Aid representative on hand right outside the bookstore to make sure all goes smoothly with this as well. 

**Please keep in mind** This opportunity is intended for students that haven’t had an opportunity to charge yet.  If you have charged before, or already gotten your financial aid refund check, the bookstore will not be able to see how much financial aid you have or had, and you won’t be able to charge your books.  I’d hate to have folks driving all the way to Locust Grove only to be informed that there was no aid available to charge to! 

Be sure to check your student account to see if you have aid available before making the trip to LGC, and please feel free to let us know if you have any questions.

February 6, 2012 (1 Anouncement):

Financial Aid Refund Checks

Financial Aid Refund Checks will be mailed to students only after enrollment is confirmed.  This usually happens during the first few weeks of the semester.  For Spring Semester 2012, beginning January 24,  enrollment confirmation begins.  Financial Aid (based on a confirmed enrollment level as of Jan 24) will be applied to your tuition balance and, if you are owed a refund, Financial Aid Refund Checks will be mailed to the address the college has on file. 

For Late Starting, or "Dynamic" Classes, students receiving aid will receive disbursements only after enrollment in those courses has been confirmed.

January 23, 2012 (1 Anouncement):

Last Day to Charge for 15 Week, 10 Week, and 1st 8 Week Classes, and to Drop a 15 week Course with a Refund!

Just a friendly reminder- Today is the last day to charge books to your financial aid for the first sessions of the spring semester at Germanna’s Bookstore.  

Also, today is the last day to drop a class with a refund for the 15 week classes.

Germanna Community College needs your permission to use federal and state financial aid funds to pay for your books and supplies.  Books and Necessary Supplies for Spring Semester 2012 may only be charged from January 3-23, 2012.

June 23, 2011 (1 Anouncement):

Financial Aid Training Camp!

On Tuesday, June 28, 2011, GCC Financial Aid Offices will be open with limited staffing from 8:30am to 12:30pm.  All Financial Aid employees will be engaged in training during this time, but there will be friendly folks in each of our Financial Aid Offices that will do their best to help you until training is completed.  Offices will resume normal staffing from 12:30pm to 5pm. 

June 22, 2011(1 Anouncement):

Please Check Your Student Account Daily!!!

Now more than ever it is important that each student pay close attention to his or her student account on a daily basis.  Any type of change (Enrollment, Tuition, Financial Aid, Bookstore Charging) to your account could lead to a balance owed to the college. Any outstanding balance could lead to your being removed from your course(s) for non-payment!!

June 20, 2011(2 Anouncements):

Remember The Fall Semester Tuition Due Date!

**Don’t forget- the tuition due date for fall semester is August 11th 2011!

Any pending financial aid awarded will be applied to your tuition account and used to reserve your courses for fall semester. If your financial aid exceeds your tuition account balance, then you will not be expected to make payment by that date. If it doesn’t (or if your aid has not posted to your account by that date), make sure to pay the difference or you may be dropped from your courses. Be sure to check your tuition account balance while you are checking your financial aid award. See a Financial Aid Advisor for more details. **
