New VA Student
A veteran student who has never used their G.I. Bill benefits before
should fill out the Application for VA Education Benefits (VA form 22-1990).
A veteran student who has used their benefits before at another school and
would like to transfer their benefits to Germanna should fill out the Request
for Change of Program or Place of Training (VA form 22-1995).
A student whose spouse/parent was killed in action or who has 100%
service-connected disability, and have never used their benefits before,
should fill out the Application for Survivors’ and Dependents’ Educational
Assistance (VA form 22-5490). This is commonly referred to as Chapter 35 benefits.
Students who have used their Chapter 35 benefits before at another school and would
like to transfer those benefits for use at Germanna Community College should fill out
the Request for Change of Program or Place of Training Survivors’ and Dependents’
Educational Assistance (VA form 22-5495).

Please refer to the directions above to verify that you are submitting
the correct form. Once forms are filled out please submit them to Angela Sawyer
in Admissions & Records.
