GERMANNA WORKING WITH ORANGE HIGH SCHOOL TO MOVE NURSING STUDENTS 'UP THE LADDER'
Fourteen Orange High School students from a Nurse's Aide program taught by registered nurse Patty Wiesenhofer toured Germanna's nursing department facilities at Locust Grove Friday, including the College's high-tech Virtual Hospital. "We're getting phenomenal support from the community and from Germanna," said Wiesenhofer, herself a 1979 graduate of the GCC nursing program. "And those students who go on to nursing school may well choose Germanna." "We're working with Orange High School so students there can get credit toward their LPN and then work toward their RN," said Germanna Locust Grove Campus Coordinator of Counseling Services Sarah Somerville "We're linking up with the high school to help people get onto that ladder, advance, and continue their education."
